About
About
I’m Shafen, exploring the intersection of AI and human capability.
I’m documenting my journey from curiosity to mastery—building systems that let humans and AI think together, not separately.
What I’m Exploring
Currently experimenting with:
- Model Context Protocol (MCP) infrastructure
- Cross-machine development workflows
- Intelligent documentation systems
- Local AI and speech recognition
My approach:
- Document everything
- Build in public
- Learn by doing
- Share insights as I discover them
The Journey
This blog is my lab notebook, made public. Each post captures what I’m learning, the systems I’m building, and the patterns I’m noticing along the way.
The path from curiosity to mastery isn’t linear—it’s a series of experiments, insights, and discoveries. This is mine.
Inspiration
This journey is inspired by conversations with Aaron Stransky at Magic Unicorn—a systems architect who’s building genuinely advanced infrastructure. Watching someone operate at that level raises your own standards.
My Setup
I work across two machines, each optimized for different purposes:
MacBook Pro (M1 Pro, 16GB RAM) My reliable daily driver—stable, efficient, perfect for writing, general development, and when I need things to just work.
ASUS ROG Flow Z13 (128GB RAM, AMD Ryzen AI MAX+ 395) The AI compute powerhouse—built for running large local LLMs (70B+ models), intensive experiments, and heavy processing.
Both machines sync via GitHub. Different tools for different jobs. Same workflow. One journey.
